The report was accepted by TEMPUS office and the project has been successfully finished. (July, 2008)

The complete report of the Project was submitted to TEMUS office in Brussels on 31 March, 2008.

 The official end of the Project is 31 January, 2008.


Outcomes and activities


  • The main outcomes and activities as foreseen in workplan are:
    1. Updated courses for undergraduate studies,
    2. New courses for undergraduate studies,
    3. New one year postgraduate programme at FEE Skopje,
    4. New teaching materials for undergraduate and postgraduate studies,
    5. New teaching and training laboratories at FEE Skopje and FTS Bitola,
    6. Development of lifelong learning courses,
    7. Skilled and trained academics and students.

    In addition the following four outcomes with coresponding activities are accepted as compulsory and complementary for successful project implementation:
    8. Dissemination,
    9. Sustainability,
    10. Quality Control and Monitoring,
    11. Management of the project.

    Description of the main project outcomes with summary of the requested activities per each year is given in the section below.

    1. Up-dating and introducing new courses for undergraduate studies.
    The first year of the project will be devoted to up-dating of existing courses and development of new courses. The total number of target courses are 9 at FEE Skopje plus 4 at FTS Bitola, 8 will be up-dated and 5 new subjects will be introduced (as listed in Table). Also new laboratory exercises will be developed for all subjects.

    First month will be devoted for analysis of the content of the similar subjects that are tought at Consortia faculties and in the second month definition of the content and up-date of the subjects will be made and next 6 months will be used for developing new teaching materials and teaching methodologies. Also after the purchasing of the new laboratory equipment new lab exercise will be set up for the up-dated courses. The second half of the first year will be devoted to development of new courses, teaching materials, laboratory exercises and tutorials.

    The human resources involved in this activity are 9 staff members from Partner Country and 4 staff members from EU plus 2 experts. This activity considers short stays in TU Delft and AGH Krakow as necessary academics training in order of better acknowledgment of similar courses in those faculties. The first coordination meeting of the Consortium Board will define the tasks for each output and the requested activity will be appointed.

    2. One year postgraduate programme development
    The second year of the project is planned for the development of the one year postgraduate programme. Substanial preparation will be taken in order to develop modern postgraduate programme. This outcome is connected with the recent changes made at FEE with introducing 4 years undergraduate plus one year postgraduate programme.

    Analysis of postgraduate programmes offered on Consortium faculties will be made and subsequent conclusions will be brought up. Special attention will be given for curriculum developing and this activity will last for three months. Some of the existing courses will be up-dated/restructured and new courses will be introduced. The rest of the year will be used for development of teaching materials.

    The human resources involve in this activity are 6 staff members from Partner Country and 2 staff members from EU, plus 2 experts. Also for this outcome travels are foreseen in Consortium faculties as necessary academics training in order of better acknowledgment similar courses in those faculties.

    3. Modernization of the laboratories at FEE Skopje and FTS Bitola
    This outcome is fundamental for succesful implementation of the previous outcomes and for meeting standards in teaching at both levels, undergraduate and postgraduate. Two teaching laboratories at FEE Skopje and FTS will be upgraded during the first year of the beginning of the project. In the second year the plan is to modernize Laboratory for Metrology at FEE Skopje.

    Precise definition and selection of needed equipment will be done which will result with subproject, before the purchasing of the equipment. Second task will be purchasing of the equipment and putting into operation. The modernization of the Metrology Lab, will be also followed by re-training of the staff in the field of metrology, activities foreseen for the second year.

    The human resources involve in this activity are 6 staff members from Partner Country and 2 staff members from EU, plus one expert. Also for this outcome re-training period is foreseen.

    4. Development of vocational lifelong learning courses
    This outcome will start in the second half of the first year and will last trough the second year. At this moment 5 courses are foreseen to be developed, one course for modern metrology, two courses for data acquisitions and digital measurements and two courses on the field of power systems measurements.

    First activity will be to approach companies from industries and identify there needs for specific courses in the field of metrology and electrical measurements. Other activities will be connected with development of the courses.

    Six staff members from Partner Country will be involved and also 2 staff members and one expert from EU.

    5. Students mobility
    Some of the best undergraduate and postgraduate students will have opportunity to undertake further short study programmes, like practical placements, participation in intensive courses, etc.

    This activity for the undergraduate students will be done twice in the first and the second year during spring/summer months. Postgraduate students will be selected for intensive courses, this activity could be done after the selection of the students.

    Ten undergraduate students will be selected together with 4 undergraduate students.

    In addition on the previous outcomes, three additional outcomes are accepted as compulsory and complementary for succesful and smooth running of the project: dissemination and sustainability, quality control and monitoring and management of the poject. All these outcomes are addressed in details in sections III.5.1, III.5.2, III.5.3 and III.5.4.
